Revi Marcelina

Founder

Revi initially started Treeasure as a final project when she took the textile design major at Institut Teknologi Bandung. When she finished the project, she didn’t want her efforts for the assignments to become useless, so she tried to sell them. It took her by surprise that she was able to find her way around and has been passionate about leather products ever since.

Chandra began his journey with Treeasure when he collaborated with Revi. By that time he just finished his master’s degree in math education at Institut Teknologi Bandung. They decided on a new course for Treeasure when they created a new approach in combining handcrafting and mathematics to explore and extend the limit of leather crafting.

How we differ from others.

Treeasure uniquely combines laser cutting technology, mathematical calculations, graphic design, and manual handcrafting. All of these combinations allow us to create precise and neat sewing on the leather, and at the same time keeping the popular double-needle-stitching technique to bring the artisan touch.

Eventually, the name Urban Crafter also came into our mind, where while living in the big city of Bandung in the modern age, there are still some things that we still prefer to do by hand.

For the past several years, we have grown to a point where we are confident to describe our leather products as simple and clean with a hint of vintage touch. We also love the rustic feel of raw leather, which is one of the reasons why we try not to do much finishing on our products.

We are very passionate about how leather has its own story over time, just like the very story of our journey. While it is not easy to survive as leather artisans, we feel extremely blessed to see how much we have grown over time. It also makes us believe that this journey has a social cause: this is not just about Treeasure, but also about other people as well.
